DIY Screenprinting
Service Description
In this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop, we’ll explore scrappy, DIY ways to screenprint from home using easy-to-find, accessible supplies. Think resourceful over perfect, playful over precious. You’ll learn how to make prints without fancy setups—just creativity, experimentation, and a willingness to get a little messy. Curious about screenprinting but intimidated by the expensive equipment, or doing it “the right way”? This class is for you. We’ll cover: * What screenprinting is (and what it *doesn’t* have to be) * DIY and low-cost screen alternatives * Simple painterly stencil methods * Basic inks, papers, and fabric options * Printing at home with minimal space * Embracing trial, error, and happy accidents This class is perfect for total beginners, artists who want to loosen up their process, or anyone interested in learning printmaking in a more accessible, low-pressure way. No prior experience needed—just curiosity and a desire to make something with your hands. You’ll leave with printed pieces, practical know-how, and the confidence to keep screenprinting at home using what you already have (or can easily find). Come be scrappy, experimental, and resourceful with us. Bring some drawings or ideas to work with for your print. Class led by Coco Rico (she/her)
