Studio with us at the pit!

Mission Statement

Cherry Pit Collective is a communal studio space for artists, makers, and creatives, where the work and vision of women and non-binary people are emphasized and celebrated.

Members work together to support and promote each other through a shared workspace and jointly share work, costs, benefits, and risks. Monthly programming includes classes and events for skill sharing within our community and to foster collaboration over competition.

All are welcome to apply for studio spaces and to attend our events, but female-identifying artists and members of other marginalized genders and communities will be prioritized.

Studio Details + Amenities

The interior is an exposed brick warehouse building with 30ft ceilings, a mixture of wood and cement flooring and ground-level spaces with wooden wall partitions. Basement spaces feature lower, 10ft ceilings with no wall partitions. The main space gets tons of natural light from its south-facing glass panel front and extra light from a skylight at the apex of the roof.

Open-ended studio spaces range from 30 to 200 square feet.

Full-time members have unlimited 24/7 access.

Spaces start at $120 per month, with a 3-month commitment minimum.

Access memberships are available for as low as $25 per month.

Memberships fees cover electricity, gas, trash pickup, high speed internet, basic insurance and security alarm. Members have access to a shared double bathroom and kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, water cooler, coffee maker, large industrial sink with hose hookup, and washer/dryer. Central air heats and cools the space for year round comfort.

Two shared large wooden tables sit in kitchenette and provide space for large projects, collaboration, monthly member meetings, service consultations, and teaching. A communal computer shipping and printing station is also available to members.

Cherry Pit Collective is sandwiched between Oddities Prints, a silkscreen + risograph printshop, and Maker Village, a community woodworking shop.

We are walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, and Print League KC, a community printmaking studio.
